Monday Made-It

This is my first Monday Made-It with Tara @ 4th Grade Frolics of the summer.  At the beginning of May, I decided it was time to start a hobby.  Believe it or not, the only hobby I had was blogging! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE blogging! But...I have always wanted to make & design those precious sugar cookies.  I started on Pinterest first and searched for ideas on how to begin.  I watched tons of You Tube videos and stalked a lot of cookie blogs.  I was determined to make my own fancy cookies with royal icing.  I shopped at Michaels and bought all my supplies (Michaels gives teachers an additional 15% off of your total purchase!).  As of today, I have tried 3 different sugar cookie and 2 royal icing recipes.  I FINALLY found the recipes that work for me.  I am in total shock and awe at how I am doing with making cookies!  To this date, I have sold 5 dozen of cookies and made 2 cookie bouquets.  I have an appointment with a hair salon tomorrow for a cookie order and I have a cookie bouquet I need to make for Friday! My little hobby is awesome!  I am surprised at how much I have learned in such a short amount of time!  I love making and decorating cookies!  Who knew?!

~~Monday Made It~~

I am linking up with Tara @ 4th Grade Frolics for her wonderful Monday Made It Linky.  I have been so busy this summer that I only linked up twice with Tara.  Last summer, I made the linky party almost every week!! Thank goodness that this linky is ongoing~~I love it!!!!   Anyway, I tried (for the very first time ever) making my activities using PowerPoint.  Why have I been using Microsoft Word all these years??!!  I can't believe how easy it was. Let's just say...I changed my behavior clip chart again~~I only made about 5 before I decided to print!!! Check out my FINAL behavior clip chart below! We have a point system so that is why my chart has numbers.

I just fell in love with all of the banners out there.  I wanted to make one of my own for my students to complete on the first day. They will complete an "All About Me" banner.  I will hang them up in my classroom when they are complete.  I made 2 versions.  Please enjoy this freebie!!  Just click on the link above!!

~~Summer Fun, Manic Monday & Monday Made It~~

I just love the summer!  Summer is the time when you can stay up late surfing online, sleep till noon, eat ice cream for lunch, attend the movies and swim all day!!  I don't know about you, but I really, really enjoy not having to plan lessons or grade papers.  I also love having the time to create activities and products for my classroom. I recently learned how to create QR codes.  I made a poster for my parents for our back to school supply day in August.  They can scan the QR code and grab all of the necessary documents.  Check out the poster below!!   You can create your own QR codes (HERE), QR Stuff.

My favorite movie EVER is Monsters, Inc.  I absolutely LOVE the movie.  I was more than excited to go and see Monsters University this past weekend.  Here is a picture of my daughter posing for her Monsters University License! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

~~Monday Made-It~~

It is summertime!!  I am so happy to be linking up again with Tara @ 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made It.  I think my last link up was in August of last year!!!  I am way over due for some link up fun.  I decided that this upcoming school year would be a breeze in the decorating department.  I do not need to take anything down (first time in 6 years!). Plus, I wanted to save some money~~Yahoo!! ~~Monday Made It: Something Special~~

It has been a looooooog time since I linked up with Tara @ 4th Grade Frolics: Monday Made It.  I miss linking up with her but knew when school started, I was going to be limited with time!!  I decided to link up something a little different than my normal classroom project.  I didn't make anything for my classroom but did make something special.  My niece, Abby, celebrated her First Eucharist this past Saturday.  She looked beautiful and the Mass was equally beautiful.  I decided to make her a cross cake.  Many of you (if not all of you) have no idea that I don't cook or bake much.  My daughter is the baker but not me.  I knew it was going to be a challenge but I dove right in and tried anyway.  I must say that the finished cake looked pretty good.  Check out my pictures below!  Don't forget to check out other Monday Made It projects with Tara!!!
